Pretty in Pink - CFC58

Hello and Happy Wednesday to you!

I have a quick post for today as I am sneaking in under the wire for the challenge at CAS-ual Friday this week:  A clean and simple project using pink.

cfc58

I love playing around with Papertrey Ink's newly released Happy Hexagons stamp set and the Hexagons Cover Plate that makes it such a breeze to implement.  However, I was conflicted about the results and would appreciate some honest feedback.  As you will see, I have two cards, either of which I am pleased to submit for this challenge, but I am not thrilled with either.  I love the idea,  especially the glittered "Queen Bee".  Any suggestions?

I've included the complete supply list at the end.  I'm looking forward to hearing from you on this one!

Thanks for stopping by,
Suzanne

  1. Well, I like both of them. I think I like the first one just a smidgen more, with the teensy extra bit of white space - but I think I'm just a white space kind of girl. ;-) They both really are lovely. I love all the gorgeous pinks and patterns you chose - so delightful. Great work!

(I like the new blog look, too! I know I haven't been here in a while - shame on me - but it looks so clean and fresh and pretty.)

  5. I like both of them, Suzanne! You are giving me wonderful ideas for when I finally get that hexagon set, too! If I was to change anything on your cards, I think on the bottom one I would angle the bee. But, as I said, I think they're both great already. :-)

  6. These are both gorgeous. I wouldn't change anything. I love the colors, and you know I am in love with hexagons these days. What wonderful cards for the pretty in pink challenge. I tried to do something with all my shades of pink, but couldn't pull it off. If I had to pick a favorite, I think it would be the first. I like how the bee is oriented, and just that little bit of extra white space in the corner.

  8. Suzanne, both of your cards are eye candy. I think your pinks are fabulous and perfect for the Pretty in Pink challenge! I wouldn't change a thing. Those hexagons are so fun, jealous because mine haven't arrived yet. Love both cards but I do like the first card more, the bee on an angle seems more fitting.

  12. Both are beautiful! But I am partial to the scattering-arranged 1st card! And I happen to have a thing for hexagons lately :) Love your cards, Suzanne! Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays!

  14. Suzanne, I love this hexagon die as well. I can't wait to use mine. In answer to your question about the cards, the first one works for me because of the way it brings your eye around the card and then back to the center. I love the tilt of that bee. In the second card, your eye goes off the page into the left hand corner.
Really nice job with composition and color.

  21. Lovely cards, Suzanne! In the first card I love the white space in the upper left balancing the larger white space. Plus the angled bee is parallel to the angled strip of hexagons. Very nice!

  22. They are both beautiful ~ I like the open areas at the top, bottom, and side of the first one, as well as, the bee on an angle. Great stamping with all of your hexagons!

  23. Hi Suzanne. Just love the look of these cards, but I think the first is my favorite for all the reasons stated above.

I have a lot of nerve to suggest any changes to my favorite card queen-bee, but, how about no sentiment with the bee? That stunning pink glittered bee could garner even more attention without the composition being sacrificed. The angled bee could just come in a little lower on the right. Your image is so stunning, they could easily stand on their own. (I hope to get my hexagons in any state of happiness soon!)
