The sun has not yet risen on this new week, but I have tons to accomplish before I leave town on Wednesday so I am up and at 'em. I'm glad I get to squeeze in one more entry for Moxie Fab World Gingham Challenge which ends today. Apparently, I am not the only one who is a little "giddy for gingham"! Check out the great cards submitted for the challenge and in Card Creations Volume 10 magazine.
AND CASE study # 93 has hosted guest designer, AGA during the month of May, and this is the last chance to case her beautiful style. So here's my card:
I was particularly inspired by the misted panel, banner detail, and large floral focal image of Aga's card:
Here is a close-up of my focal image, shined up a bit using a Sakura Glaze Pen. I used the same treatment on the sentiment banner.
I chose the landscape orientation because of the misting. I love the randomness that comes with using misting products such as Mister Huey in Pretty Pink, but I can't quite get the larger, spattered effect yet. I'll have to work on this technique some more. I bought a variety of Mister Huey colors and look forward to the practice. As you can see, the focal image as well as the misted panel are raised up on dimensional foam. The card base is made from Papertrey Ink Simply Chartreuse Pattern Paper Collection. I am a little nuts about the patterns as well as the available colors for these 8 1/2 X 11 pattern packages. I'm adding them to a lot of projects where I have not used patterns before. The chartreuse gingham is showing up a lot!
I guess it's time to get on with the rest of my day. I hope your week holds lots of crafting time. Leave a comment for me so that I
can visit you in return and see what you're up to as well!
Thanks for stopping by,
Suzanne

Super cute card, and in my favorite colors too! Great job on the misting--I haven't got the guts to try it yet. Love the shimmery touches, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the gingham with splatter- looks wonderful! Flower with leaves and button are perfect!!
ReplyDeleteThese are great colors and a great challenge combo too!!! Glad you got some crafting done.
ReplyDeleteThe gingham looks absolutely perfect as the backdrop to your sweet flower! I love that you made it pink instead of using it as a traditional yellow sunflower--don't you love it when stamps have that versatility? Your misting looks incredible too, and I'm with you on needing practice to get the big drops of ink with a spray mist. I finally gave up and started using a paint brush for those! :) Thanks for joining us this week at CASE Study, Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteLove both cards and love the gingham. I love to see this happy sunflower it is one of my favorites from PTI and I think it looks great in all colors. Great job with the spraying. Enjoy your get a way Suzanne!

ReplyDeletehow did you get the fine misting? forget the big splatter, everyone can do that!!! it's a fantastic card and that misting makes it so!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and fabulous misting. Thank you for visiting my blog, too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty! Love the vibrant pink... the splatter looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! Love this card!
ReplyDeleteFabulous misting! I just love these colors together! Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love that pink color, in fact, I just ordered some! You can achieve more of a splatter effect by screwing off the cap and flicking the dropper that is attached, or even by holding down the squirter for a while before releasing the mist.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Suzanne...love the colors and the way you have that ink splatter look, very classy. Your flowers look as if you jut picked them from your garden, so amazing.
