Holiday Card Boot Camp, Day 4, Project #1

Hi There!  It feels good to get my project for today posted a little earlier than usual.  Unfortunately, I did not get to try my hand at Project #2 for today which is an acetate card.  I am waiting for delivery of acetate card stock that should arrive on Monday.  Maybe I can catch up then.

My project today is a pocket card designed for enclosing a newsletter or perhaps cash.
It measures 3 3/4" X 8 1/2".  Starting with a sheet of 8.5 X 11" Kraft card stock, I scored the 11" side at 3 3/4" and again at 7 1/2".  I trimmed off 3/4"of the remaining section to form the pocket; making it fold up from the bottom of the card and give plenty of room to add the enclosure.  Staples were used to secure the sides of the pocket, but if I do this again, I will use 1/8th" scor-tape instead.

I love the sentiment on the inside

It is so fun and interesting to use the sketches from designers like Kristina Werner, who presented the tutorial for the project I have shown here.  I am learning a lot!  Thanks goodness I have access to the class after it ends in two weeks.  I know I will refer to it again and again.

Well, laundry beckons!  I hope you have a most pleasant evening and I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by,
Suzanne

  4. What a fabulous composition. Was it a challenge after all those card shaped canvases? It looks like you sewed around the perimeter and that would be a way to go, rather than the staples. I look forward to seeing your next creation.
