Hello and happy Tuesday, my Blog Buddies!
I have a quick post for you today which combines the Color Throw Down challenge with Make It Monday from Nichole Heady's blog for Papertrey Ink! This was a lot of fun and challenging since I am not one to "color outside the lines". As you can see I created my own lines with Copic Markers and that's about as far as I can go in freestyling!
Do you love the new Bloom Builder Die from PTI? I do! You may see that fluffy floral embellie on many of my cards to come. There is definitely a learning curve on successfully removing such an intricate cut from the card stock. I did not get it on the first try. I even lost a couple of petals in the process but the good news is that it really doesn't matter once I put the layers together.
Here are the colors for the Throwdown:
and here is my card:
Details: (all PTI unless noted)
Card stock: Lemon Tart, Dark Chocolate, Simply Chartreuse
Dies: Bloom Builders #3, Sending you (leaves), Spellbinders Large Circles
Ribbon: Raspberry Fizz
Stamps: "Miss You" from Tiny Tags, "Hello" from Hero Arts CL 483
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Versamark
Embossing Powder: Leaf, by Zing!
Copic Markers: YG13, RV17, E59
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great rest of the week.
Happy stamping!
Suzanne
Woah, you made those lines??? They look awesome. I also love the way you presented the Throwdown colors-lovely! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have cut waxed paper in dies (read it somewhere)to allow paper to RELEASE from a die. Also, I saw Erin use a sticky roller (I think last week)to remove paper from a die.
Oh, gorgeous! Great combination of challenges--love the plaid look with those colors. And I have GOT to get that die! Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThis is so striking! Totally reinforcing that I want a green hydrangea and green coneflower! Love it!
ReplyDeleteKindest regards,
Jennifer Ferrell
Fabulous card!

Awesome! I looked at this colour challenge yesterday and decided against it-I was way too intimidated!! Well done you!
ReplyDeleteThat flower is so pretty! I made a card yesterday with a similar looking die cut, they're great huh?!
I just watched the Make it Monday video you linked in your previous post and Erin (I think that's who it was, sorry!) said that she used a lint roller to get die cuts out of dies as well as to pick up stray glitter - maybe that would save your petals from their fateful end?! :)
Wow! I love how you combined these colours into a beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteWow, love the lines , great colors and I cant wait to get my bloom builders die in the mail . I hope tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE FLOWER....
ReplyDeleteWonderful card and AMAZING flower!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you got your Bloom Builders so fast, but I love it on this card! I just think these colors together are the bomb. ;-) Love it! Your card is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOOh, does that bloom ever look amazing in green! What a wonderful take on the color combination too!
