Hello All! Happy Saturday night. I hope the weekend is going well for you. My husband is on call and won't be home for another 30 minutes so I am making this a quick show and tell for this week's MIM. Ashley Cannon Newell has done one of her excellent tutorials showing her creativity with stamping on patterned paper. Check it out!
Here's my card
I am in love with all of the Pattern Packs being released at Papertrey Ink. I chose the gingham check from the Fine Linen collection for the background. I stamped it with Turning a New Leaf in Ripe Avocado ink and finished this simple card with my favorite Fillable Frame #10 using a sentiment from the new We Go Together set. What do you think about the little pink flowers? These were made with an old EK Success punch that I have had for so long I don't remember where or why I have it. But, I find that I frequently use it on a variety of projects. To my surprise, however, I discovered that a small 5-petal flower in Beautiful Blooms II is the perfect stamp for it! I also added a little Flower Soft in sunshine yellow to the the centers. They remind me of the little crabapple blossoms in the early spring. One of the things I love most about paper crafting is that I have license to make any flower my little brain can imagine so here are my crabapple blossoms on a Carolina Jessamine vine climbing on a lattice in July! LOL!
The card base is Fine Linen card stock and the mat is in Ripe Avocado.
Stay cool, girlfriends, it's hot out there!
Thanks for stopping by,
Suzanne
So beautiful...I too love all the PTI patterned paper but never thought to use it for this weeks challenge. You made an amazing card and your sweet flowers are such a wonderful touch.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Suzanne! I love your little crabapple blossoms . They are the perfect little flower for your vine!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! Love the sentiment you used and the little flowers you added. - Irma
ReplyDeleteTotally agree on the Fine Linen pattern pack - i love it and it is so lovely with the Ripe Avocado (making mental note on that color combo :-)). Your leaves are so pretty - I'm finding that Turning a new Leaf hard to resist. And my wish list is already so long but those leaves are just so versatile! And the added benefit of adding cute flowers - you're killing me! Oh and We Go together was already on the list but now in addition to the TANL I also have to add the FF#10- can you tell this is just my kinda card? :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card ~ great choice of both patterned paper and the stamp set to use. Isn't it fun when you find things that go together ~ that weren't made to go together?
ReplyDeleteYour card is so very pretty. All so nicely coordinated! Very attractive.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fresh looking. I love the green with the fine linen paper.
ReplyDeleteThese aren't colors I would normally put together, but they work so well.
ReplyDeleteSuper card. That patterned paper is perfect for stamping on, and it looks really great with Ripe Avocado. I love that you can make any sort of flower and vine you want--you are like a genetic engineer!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Suzanne! That gingham print makes for a perfect lattice and I love your popped-up blooms with the soft centers ... so sweet!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful, Suzanne! I think it's wonderful that you were able to marry a punch with a stamp...I love when crafty victories like that happen. ;)
ReplyDeleteSuzanne...I have become an "instant fan" of your blog! I popped over to check you out after your sweet comment on my blog about my "spotted cows!" (Aren't those the craziest? My son may think I have "mad cow!").
ReplyDeleteI really love this card of yours...the pop of color is the crowning touch to an elegant card....gorgeous and festive all at the same time! Can't wait to see more of your work!
This is beautiful!!! I love the background and how you chose to stamp over it! Just gorgeous! Thanks for leaving such a nice comment on my blog!
ReplyDeleteLove your flowers and wonderful sentiment.
ReplyDeleteYes I am a bit behind, this card is beautiful. The green and the splash of orange is divine.
