Make It Monday #58 Graduated Backgrounds

Hi There!  Is it really Friday already?  Spring is EXPLODING around here and we have a whole weekend of beautiful weather coming up in which to enjoy it.  I hope it's the same for you-where ever you are!

Nichole WOWED me again with her artistic style in this week's MIM Video and I have already peeked at the gallery and seen some other pretty amazing submissions to the challenge.  You still have time to play along in case you haven't given this beautiful technique a try.

I chose a variety of Copic markers to apply and blend the colors for this graduated background on a piece of White card stock cut to 5"X 3 3/4".  I used a Memory Box Butterfly Delights die on the diagonal and balanced it with a sentiment from Daydreamers stamp set, stamped with VersaMark ink, and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  This was mounted on a white mat which was then mounted onto a Hibiscus Burst card base.

The colors photographed a little warmer than they truly are, but I think you can get the idea of how beautifully Copic markers blend together to created this dream-like background.

Thanks in advance for any comments you may have!

So glad you stopped by,

  1. I so love those butterflies on that background!

  2. i love the white for contrast. i hope you saved those tiny die cut butterflies and use them for another card. great job!!

  3. This is beautiful. What a great idea to cut out those butterflies, and I'll bet they can be used on another card. Your sentiment, embossed in white, is the perfect contrast.

  4. Very pretty Suzanne. The embossed butterflies look fabulous on the pretty background.

  5. Love the colors you used & that butterfly die is perfect for your project! Really lovely!
