Papertrey Ink 5th Anniversary Celebration

Hi Everybody!

I hope you are enjoying a little peace and quiet before the Superbowl tonight!  Have you been over to Nichole Heady's Blog?  The celebration is beginning and so are the contests and challenges for some amazing prizes!  Today, Nichole had each of the design team members share a favorite project from the past year, a favorite PTI memory, and 5 favorite PTI products.  Then participants are challenged to pick one of these favorite projects and use it for our own project.  I chose Dawn McVey! Dawn grabbed my attention again recently with the Papertrey Ink News:  A revisit to Fillable Frames.  I love her fresh and bold style, the way she combines colors and stamp sets.  So, here is the card she inspired me to make.

Some of Dawn's "favorite things" that I have incorporated into my card are Rustic Cream card stock, Chocolate baker's twine, Mat Stack #4 die, and Rosie Posie stamp set.  Additionally, I used Mat Stack #4 Layerz die, Rosie Posie Die set, Raspberry Fizz, Aqua Mist, and Dark Chocolate inks, Polka Dot Basics and A Big Thank You  stamp sets.

So Dawn, this card is for you-A GREAT BIG THANK YOU for another year of amazing inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by,
Suzanne

  2. It's gorgeous! I love the way you emphasized the frame with that black border, and the scale of the elements (large flower vs polka dots) is perfect!

    1. Suzanne, your card is gorgeous, can't believe (well guess I should since we both like Dawn McVey's cards and style) we both used the sample flower and die.
Thanks for your nice comments on my blog, and good luck in the challenge!

  12. Beautiful card! I am really regretting that I didn't pick up the Rosie Posie set. I thought I could do without it, but every time I see on someone else's blog, I start to think I can't do without it! I'll have to pick it up sometime. I love the colors you used, and the polk-dot background is awesome. LOVE your rosie posie flower. ;-)

  14. Oh, it's so wonderful to catch up with all your creations again. You've seen all the changes in the design team at Papertrey, and I was disappointed not to see your name on the list. Seriously, Papertrey in your hands, doesn't get any better. I love the black leaves with the pink flower - traditional with a creative twist - your trademark I'd say. Hope to see more of your cards soon.
PS I'm getting ready to send you the wee item. Thanks for the address.
